Bit of an angry post!

Ok so with 100% responsibility comes 100% honesty. I have had the most dreadful day and I know everyone is going to go through that – it is not always all peaches and roses (although I wish it was) – it seems like today no endless amount of things went wrong. What did go right was the love I received from my family – that is always my hugest blessing.

I came across a website today discussing the conman we were involved with. In my book I called him Chris, I could never quite come to terms with blaming him as I saw it all my fault and my husband was scared of any repercussions in naming him. I am no longer scared – I do blame myself and accept responsibility.

However, I passionately want to warn others of the type of people that are out there taking advantage of people like us who just want to believe that everyone is inherently good.  If we did not have these thoughts of not being good enough ourselves there would be no place for these sort of criminals. So Andrew, if this makes you unhappy, go for your life, I would love to speak with you and in fact challenge you to contact me!

Here is link to a site that warns people about the spruiker, Andrew Carr, that we employed. Yes,  I say employed although at the time I didn’t think of it that way however that is basically what we did. We employed/contracted him to teach us about wealth creation – how to grow the millions we already had into more – we thought we were employing a mentor, someone who had been there done that, someone who was himself a billionaire. Andrew is not alone and there are many out there. This is what we got:

A tv interview showing 2 beautiful couples who were also scammed is below as well as a guy who did the utmost to assist us.  The amount that each of us lost is inconsequential, what it boiled down to is that we all lost everything we had because we believed in Andrew and our friends who were also investing and dared not question what Andrew told us to do. Unfortunately we were too embarrassed to participate in this interview at the time.

and below again are some ASIC (Australian Securities and Investments Commision) links – although of course they have got the amounts invested all wrong but that is only what they can pin him on. I also find their site quite hopeless when searching for known felons – they just don’t come up!  He did appear in Court last September (2009) however I cannot seem to find the record – can anyone help me here? I would love to know what happened.

This is the best ASIC have been able to do. Government and other agencies appear to have their hands tied. Our solicitors and barristers found Andrew  amazing at just avoiding and delaying everything.

So do not be fooled.  ASIC are still chasing him. I am constantly amazed by how many people are selling things through the internet and email,over the phone. through the mail, all claiming to promise the world. My book was knocked back by a publisher today because although they thought it an interesting read they are more focused on publishing books with very strong finance, tax, superannuation and property content.  

They told me they are looking for real step by step guides, rather than narratives. I understand as publishers they are just producing what the public wants so that tells me what the public is looking for. That makes me scared as that is a market for conmen, there are too many people not believing in what they can do and looking to others to show them. Perhaps I should change my title to How to Avoid Wealth Creation Conmen and what to look out for in a step by step guide? (all feedback on that idea welcome).

My original idea for this post had been the idea of TRUST, FAITH and CONFIDENCE – of course all that comes back to self belief. Of course we had none of these things when we employed Andrew Carr – we put all of our trust, faith and confidence in him, not ourselves. We thought he knew better and we did exactly as he advised with our money because that we lacked belief in ourselves and our own capabilities – we were too terrified to question him for fear he would dump us.

Even after our experiences  I still find myself constantly lured by the promises of many a website. If I can give you any advice for today it is find trust, faith, confidence in yourself first before doing anything or investing anywhere – that is 100% responsibility!! Please read my book – if you do not have $25 dollars email me and I will send it to you. I do not want people making the same mistakes we did. I want people to read and learn what we thought and understand why we did what we did and how we were lured.

We are all on a huge learning curve – just try and relax – as my husband says – crying will get you nowhere!
